Evaluation of enzyme biomarkers in freshwater invertebrates from Taro and Ticino river, Italy

چکیده
Freshwater invertebrates are commonly used in biological monitoring, but research of biomarkers at biochemical level is still at the early stage of development. Biomarkers in aquatic species are regarded as important for detecting stressor components, such as presence of pollutants and changes in environmental factors (temperature, pH, oxygen content, etc.). Hyne and Maher (2003) reviewed the application of biochemical measurements in invertebrates as a supplementary tool to predict changes in natural populations of aquatic invertebrates. They highlighted the lack of knowledge on the linkages between biochemical biomarker variations and macroinvertebrate population response.

The effect of Rainbow trout farms effluents on benthic macro-invertebrates of Marber River in Semirom
The effect of Rainbow trout farms effluents on benthic macro-invertebrates of Marber River in Semirom city was investigated in spring and summer of 2013. Sampling from benthic macro-invertebrates was done monthly using Surber sampler (mouth area of 30.5 * 30.5 cm with a 500 mesh net) at entrance, discharge and far from three fish farms. In addition to measuring physical and chemical parameters ...
متن کاملAssessment of water quality of Gamasiab River using BMWP and ASPT Indices
The rivers are under threat by numerous pollutions and their quality assessment is a need. Water quality of the Gamasiab River in Kermanshah Province was assessed using biological indices (BMWP and ASPT method). Six stations were selected and macro invertebrates were collected by surber sampler from July 2013 to May 2014. In this study, 11 families of the macro invertebrates from 10 orders were...

The invertebrates are one of the most important terrestrial fauna and freshwater taxa.Benthic macroinvertebrates include aquatic insects and spiders, mites, crustaceans, andspecies of mollusks and worms that are aquatic in their immature stages and terrestrial intheir adult stage. Jajrud River originates from the Alborz Mountains and is a source of<br ...
متن کاملA floating cage system for rearing freshwater mussels Anodonta anatina and Unio mancus in Piedmont region (NW Italy)
This research represents the first attempt in Italy to develop a cage system for adult freshwater mussel stocking, for extensive farming, that was realized from 2003 to 2005 in NW Italy. Two autochthonous species of Italian freshwater mussel were used: Anodonta anatina and Unio mancus. 5133 mussels were collected and successively stocked in floating cages in 5 different sites in a lake. This st...
متن کاملSurvey of bacteria associated with abdominal flap of freshwater crab (Potamon ebonyicum) at Ebonyi River basin Nigeria
Ebonyi River basin of south east Nigeria is home to the freshwater crab Potamon ebonyicum, which are consumed indiscriminately by inhabitants and tourists. Bulk of the crab meat is obtained by crabbing. A preliminary survey of pathogenic bacteria associated with vulnerable morphological part of the crab species was carried out in the basin. Bacteria were isolated from abdominal flaps of the mal...
